Digital Archiving, Preservation, and Article Accessibility Policy
Digital Archiving, Preservation, and Article Accessibility Policy
The Journal of Sustainable Research in Humanities (JSRHS) is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and ensuring continued access to it, thereby supporting the stability and integrity of the journal’s scholarly record and reducing the risks associated with the loss of electronic content.
- Digital Preservation
The journal adopts procedures for the digital preservation and archiving of its published content and seeks to ensure the continued availability of articles and their metadata in the event of technological changes or the temporary or permanent discontinuation of the journal’s website.
Within its available technical capabilities, the journal uses digital preservation and archiving services provided through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), or any other reliable digital preservation service that the journal may adopt in the future.
- Content Covered by Archiving
Where technically feasible, the journal’s digital archiving arrangements include:
- Published articles.
- Journal issues.
- Final article files.
- Article metadata.
- DOI information.
- Bibliographic information associated with the articles.
- Notices of corrections and retractions associated with articles, where applicable.
- Continuity of Access
The journal seeks to maintain stable links to published articles and to use persistent digital identifiers, such as DOIs, whenever available.
Digital preservation is not intended to guarantee that the journal’s current website will remain unchanged indefinitely. Rather, it is intended to ensure that the journal’s scholarly content can be preserved, recovered, and made accessible through recognized preservation and archiving systems.
- Authors’ Rights to Self-Archiving
The journal permits authors to deposit and share the published version of their articles in:
- Institutional repositories operated by their universities or research institutions.
- Subject-based and disciplinary repositories.
- Personal academic websites.
- Academic sharing platforms.
- Teaching, educational, and research contexts.
Such sharing is permitted in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license adopted by the journal.
The journal does not impose an embargo period on access to published articles.
- Version Permitted for Deposit
Authors may deposit and share the final published version of their article, including the article file published by the journal, provided that such use complies with the terms of the applicable license.
Authors should retain and, where applicable, include the original bibliographic information of the article, including the journal title, volume and issue, page numbers or article number, DOI, and publication date, where such information is available.
- Copyright and Licensing
Copyright remains with the authors in accordance with the journal’s Copyright and Licensing Policy.
Authors grant the journal the right of first publication and a non-exclusive license to publish, make available, index, and archive the article in accordance with the terms of the applicable license.
- Archiving of Corrected or Retracted Articles
When a published article is corrected or retracted, the journal seeks to update the article’s records and to link the published version to the corresponding correction or retraction notice.
The journal does not remove the scholarly record of a retracted article when retaining that record is necessary to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record. Instead, the article’s status is clearly and prominently identified as corrected or retracted, as applicable.
- Responsibility for Preservation
The journal is responsible for taking reasonable and available measures to preserve its published content.
The journal also seeks to develop and strengthen its digital preservation procedures as its technical infrastructure and available digital preservation services evolve.
- Policy Review and Updating
This Digital Archiving, Preservation, and Article Accessibility Policy is reviewed periodically to ensure its continued relevance to technological developments, the requirements of indexing and archiving services, and recognized international practices in scholarly publishing.
