Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the role of business intelligence and its various dimensions (data collection and storage, data analysis and processing, data mining, and business intelligence techniques) in strategic decision-making. The study population consisted of all employees in insurance companies in Misrata, with a total of 100 employees. A comprehensive survey method was used in this study, and a descriptive and analytical approach was adopted. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool, and the results were analyzed using the statistical analysis software (SPSS).

 The study found several significant results, including the high level of application of the study dimensions by companies (data collection and storage, data analysis and processing, data mining, and information presentation techniques). There was also a moderate positive correlation between data collection and storage, data analysis and processing, data mining, and information presentation techniques, with the most vital relationship found between information presentation techniques and strategic decision-making.

The study also found a statistically significant role of business intelligence and its dimensions (data collection and storage, data analysis and processing, data mining, and information presentation techniques) in strategic decision-making in insurance companies in Misrata.
