The Attitudes of University Girls in Arab Societies Toward Polygamy

The current study aimed to determine the attitudes of university girls in Arab societies towards polygamy. The descriptive approach was followed, as it is appropriate to the nature of the study. The study used a questionnaire to collect data from a sample of university girls in Arab societies, amounting to (636) individuals. The results of the study indicated that polygamy helps increase the number of Muslims, protects oneself from temptations, reduces the rate of spinsterhood, ensures protection for divorcees and widows, helps reduce the economic burdens on divorcees and widows, and reduces psychological pressure on divorcees, widows, and spinsters. The results of the study also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the attitudes of university girls according to the variable of country and place of residence, and there were statistically significant differences in the attitudes of university girls according to the variable of age and marital status
