Abstract

This study addresses the ethical issues surrounding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in scientific research amid the rapid digital transformation the world is witnessing. The research focuses on analyzing the relationship between AI and the principles of integrity, transparency, and impartiality in the production of academic knowledge.

The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and conducted a field study on a sample of 65 postgraduate students at the University of Tripoli. The findings revealed that most participants have limited knowledge of AI technologies and that their actual use in research remains weak despite their awareness of its importance. The results also confirmed an increasing awareness of the need to establish clear ethical guidelines and standards governing the use of AI in scientific research.

The research concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which are: training researchers on the ethical use of AI technologies, enhancing transparency in data sources, and enacting regulations that preserve privacy and scientific credibility.
