This study examines the impact of organizational environment factors on the self-management competency of the Libyan Audit Bureau employees. It aims to describe and interpret the levels of overall and partial impact between the two variables. A descriptive correlational research design was adopted to describe and analyse the impact of organizational environment on self-management competency. Data were collected through questionnaires from a sample of 248 individuals. Data were statistically analysed using SPSS software. The results showed that the mean levels of organizational culture and justice recorded moderate level (2.99 and 3.00, respectively). The mean level of informal communication was 3.59, indicating a high mean coefficient for this dimension. Overall, the mean of the organizational environment was 3.16, indicating a moderate level. In contrast, the mean levels of the self-management competency were high (3.66 to 3.90), with an overall mean of 3.76. Results supported all hypotheses indicating the effect of organizational environment factors on self-management competency revealing a significant impact (p-value = 0.05) of organizational environment factors on self-management competency. Organizational justice had the strongest effect (27% R²), followed by informal communication (5.2% R²) and organizational culture (2.5% R²). The study recommends transforming informal communication into a tool that supports formal communication and leveraging it to facilitate knowledge transfer and sharing. It also recommends developing executive managers' skills in procedural justice principles, establishing measurable and trackable performance indicators, and training employees to adopt self-learning skills and psychological resilience to cope with work pressures and challenging situations.
