Abstract

The study aimed to identify the repercussions of using artificial intelligence applications on the quality of results in academic research from the point of view of university faculty members. The study sample consisted of university faculty members at the Faculty of Humanities and Applied Sciences/Tokra, University of Benghazi, which amounted to (42) individuals. The study used the descriptive approach and relied on the questionnaire to collect data. Descriptive statistical methods were used, represented by frequencies and percentages in presenting the study data. It also used the arithmetic mean, median, mode and standard deviation in interpreting the study results. The study reached the following results, the most important of which are: - Most of the sample members of the faculty members agree to a large or medium degree that artificial intelligence has a positive role in providingresearch. There is a variance that reflects clear differences in the opinions of the sample members of the faculty members, ranging between a medium and weak degree in the sample members’ estimation of the role of artificial intelligence in developing research skills. There is a tendency towards agreement among the sample members of the faculty members about the significant role of artificial intelligence in analyzing and processing data. This reflects a general consensus that artificial intelligence has a clear and effective role in improving the results and quality of research. The study reached a set of recommendations, including: establishing a mechanism to regulate the use of artificial intelligence technologies in scientific research in a manner that is inconsistent with the ethics of scientific research, conducting numerous studies on artificial intelligence and its tools to create new areas in academic research, familiarizing researchers with these tools, and honing their skills.     sources of information related to academic
