The study aimed to evaluate the availability of environmental disclosure requirements in industrial companies operating within the jurisdiction of the Misurata municipality. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, collecting data through a questionnaire distributed to a sample of industrial companies. The results revealed that the level of companies' adoption of environmental disclosure requirements was at an "agree" level, indicating a minimal degree of compliance. However, this does not meet the desired standard, with evident gaps that need to be addressed across various dimensions—including organizational and administrative, technical and informational, as well as human resources and training aspects. Additionally, the study found a statistically significant relationship between the degree of availability of these requirements and the level of environmental disclosure in industrial companies, emphasizing the importance of strengthening these requirements to improve the quality of disclosure.
Based on the study's findings, a set of recommendations was proposed to enhance environmental disclosure in the examined companies. Key recommendations include: developing institutional environmental policies, improving the quality and detail of environmental performance reports, activating the role of relevant authorities, implementing international environmental management standards, and enhancing technical infrastructure.
